• What lesson is the author trying to teach in this chapter?
• What message does this chapter give about friendship, courage, or fairness?
• Why do you think the author chose to end the chapter this way?

Vocabulary

• Find a word you didn’t know. What do you think it means?
• Pick a strong word the author used. Why does it work well here?

Opinion & connection

• What was your favorite part of this chapter? Why?
• Does anything in this chapter remind you of your own life?
• Would you recommend this book to a friend so far? Why or why not?
