Reading Journal Maker
Turn any chapter book into a printable reading journal — thoughtful questions, room to reflect, ready to fold, staple, and hand over.
All optional. Fill in what you like to have it printed on the cover — or leave any field blank to give your child space to write it in themselves.
8.5 × 11 in sheets → 5.5 × 8.5 in pages.
Pick your book and let AI write reading-journal questions — one tailored to each chapter, plus a few example answers. Everything lands in the list below, where you can edit, reorder, or remove anything before you print.
Or write your own below. These questions rotate across your chapters, in order — edit any of them, remove ones you don't want, or add your own.
No questions yet — add one or reset to the defaults.
Booklet PDF is the one to print — landscape, double-sided (flip on short edge), then fold & staple. Standard PDF is one page per sheet and does not fold into a booklet.
A5 Pages PDF is full-size A5 pages in reading order. Print it double-sided on A5, then hole-punch and add to your binder. The hole-punch margin alternates sides so the holes line up.
If the back sides come out upside-down, switch the double-sided setting to the other binding (long edge ⟷ short edge).
Pages print in reading order, so opening the binder shows page 2 facing page 3, and so on. The hole-punch margin alternates left/right so the holes stay on one physical edge. If the backs come out upside-down, switch the double-sided binding to the other edge.

Search for the book, choose a reading level and a few options, and we'll fill in chapter questions plus example answers. Questions are as book-accurate as the model's knowledge — for lesser-known titles they'll be thoughtful but thematic rather than chapter-specific.
Edit, reorder, or remove any question. These rotate across your chapters, in order.
