I think Lucely and Syd take a risk because they want to protect the people and spirits they care about. They do not fully understand the danger yet, but they feel like they have to do something instead of just watching the problem get worse. I understand their choice because if my family were in trouble, I would want to help too. Still, I think they should have been more careful and asked more questions first.

Chapter 14: How does Lucely show courage in this chapter, even if she is scared? Explain the difference between being brave and not being afraid.

Lucely shows courage because she keeps trying to help even when the situation is scary and confusing. She is not acting like everything is easy, but she does not give up. To me, being brave does not mean you never feel afraid. It means you feel afraid and still choose to do the right thing.

Chapter 30: What lesson about grief, love, or family do you think this chapter teaches? Use details from the story to explain your answer.

I think this chapter teaches that loving someone does not stop just because they are gone. Lucely's connection to her family helps her understand that memories can be powerful and comforting. The story shows that grief can hurt, but it can also remind us how much people matter. I liked that the book treats family love as a kind of strength.
