I learned that Dolly’s family was poor, but they were very close. They lived in a small home, and everyone had to help out. Music was an important part of their life because it brought them joy even when things were hard. I think her family helped her feel loved and gave her the courage to dream.

In Chapter 6, Dolly has to make choices about her career and her own style. Why is it important that she stays true to herself?

I think it is important that Dolly stays true to herself because that is what makes her special. She does not try to be exactly like everyone else. Her clothes, songs, and personality all show who she really is. If she changed just to please other people, she might not have become the Dolly Parton people love.

In Chapter 10, after reading about Dolly Parton’s life, what is your opinion of her accomplishments? Which part of her story impressed you the most, and why?

I think Dolly Parton’s accomplishments are amazing because she worked hard from the time she was young. She became a famous singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. The part that impressed me most was how she also helped other people, especially children. That shows she cares about using her success in a kind way.
