Warriors Graphic Novel: The New Prophecy, Part One of Three questions by chapter

We know the book, its characters, setting and story, but not what happens in each chapter. So every question is written for this book, and any of them works wherever your reader has just stopped. One question per chapter, across all 12 chapters, and every one is editable before you print. The example answers under 3 of the chapters are the ones printed at the front of the booklet.

  1. Chapter 1

So far, what problem or mystery seems most important to the warrior cats? Use details from the chapter to explain your thinking.

  2. Chapter 2

How does Brambleclaw act in this chapter? What do his choices show about the kind of cat he is becoming?

  3. Chapter 3

What have you noticed about the relationship between the Clans so far? How are loyalty and distrust both part of the story?

  4. Chapter 4

Choose one word or phrase from this chapter that felt important, interesting, or confusing. What do you think it means, and how did the pictures or sentences help you understand it?

  5. Chapter 5

What do the drawings in this chapter help you understand about the forest, the camp, or the cats’ feelings?

Example answer: The drawings helped me understand the mood of the story better than words alone. When the cats looked tense or worried, I could tell that something serious was happening even before they said much. The forest also seemed like a real place because the pictures showed the space around the cats. That made the danger and mystery feel closer.

  6. Chapter 6

So far, how do messages from StarClan or signs from dreams affect the choices the cats make?

  7. Chapter 7

Which character do you trust most right now, and why? Use at least two details from what you have read so far.

Example answer: Right now, I trust Brambleclaw because he seems to take his responsibilities seriously. He does not act like everything is easy, and he thinks about what his Clan needs. I also think he tries to understand messages or problems instead of ignoring them. That makes me feel like he wants to do the right thing, even when he is unsure.

  8. Chapter 8

What prediction can you make about the journey or danger the cats may face next? Explain what clues led you to that prediction.

  9. Chapter 9

How does Squirrelpaw or Leafpaw show courage, curiosity, or loyalty in what you read? Give an example from the chapter.

  10. Chapter 10

What is one hard decision a cat faces in this chapter or in the story so far? What would you have done in that character’s place?

  11. Chapter 11

How does this chapter show the theme of working together, even when cats come from different Clans or have different opinions?

Example answer: This chapter shows that working together is not always simple. The cats may care about their own Clans first, but they also have to listen to others when there is a bigger danger. I noticed that trust has to grow slowly because the Clans have old rivalries. The story makes me think that teamwork means being brave enough to cooperate, not just being friends right away.

  12. Chapter 12

What question would you ask Erin Hunter about the story so far? Explain why that question matters to your understanding of the book.
